We’re so glad you asked! Tourism Academy will be held in sunny Long Beach, California this year. The venue is The Renaissance Long Beach Hotel, which is located in the heart of downtown Long Beach. What's the best way to travel to Long Beach for Tourism Academy?
If you are flying to Tourism Academy, then the Long Beach Airport (LGB) is an excellent option with nonstop service from twelve cities. It's a quick 20 minute drive from the Long Beach Airport to The Renaissance Long Beach Hotel. There are taxis, shuttles, and car rentals available on-site at the airport.
You may also choose to travel to nearby Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) or John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County. These alternate airports are each a short 25-30 minute drive from downtown Long Beach as well.
What is Tourism Academy all about?
What began as the iDSS users conference has evolved into Tourism Academy. New technology supports and drives digital success in the destination marketing industry. It is critical for today’s forward-thinking travel and tourism professionals to understanding what's coming around the bend, and Tourism Academy fills this educational need.
What kind of sessions will be offered?
Tourism Academy will offer iDSS boot camp on day one, then two additional conference days packed with a dual track of iDSS and digital marketing sessions from leaders in the travel and tourism industry. Attendees may choose to experience both iDSS Bootcamp on June 20th and/or Tourism Academy's main sessions on June 21st & 22nd.

iDSS boot camp on day one will offer a deep dive into iDSS from members of the iDSS client success team. Days two and three of the conference will cover additional iDSS topics as well as digital marketing topics such as content marketing, social media marketing and measurement, SEO, mobile strategies, and much more.
Who will be speaking?
The sessions will be packed with educational content highlighting the latest trends, technology, case studies, and best practices in travel and tourism marketing and data management. Speakers will include a mix of experts from the DMO community and representatives from many different companies and organizations in the travel and tourism and digital marketing spaces. We know your time is precious, so this is not going to be a series of sales pitches from vendors. View the 2017 agenda and highlights from last year's event to get a sense of session content.

Who is behind Tourism Academy?
Will there be parties?
Of course there will be parties! We fully support the adage "Work hard, play hard." If you were at DMAI 2016, then you may remember our epic party at First Avenue. We will host a Tourism Academy opening reception on Tuesday June 20th at The Cove, an outdoor events space. On June 21st, we'll have our big party at The Federal Underground with our famous "house" band rocking out. Definitely bring your dancing shoes and stay tuned for more party details.
We look forward to seeing you in Long Beach! If you have additional questions, please get in touch.
